Let us begin in no particular order with ....
Wolf by Wolf, by Ryan Graudin
This tells of a world in which Hitler won the War instead of the Allied Forces and the extent that one girl will go to seek retribution. I only discovered this because of some booktubers (and then being asked to review it by Net Galley) and I adored every single sentence!
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs
In this story, Jacob Portman witnesses a horrific family tragedy and follows a set of clues that take him to an abandoned orphanage on a Welsh island that may not be as deserted as he first thought. This event leads Jacob into the world of the Peculiars and he soon discovers why his grandfather spent time on the island in the first place and how that links to him being the only witness to his grandfather's murder. This was a completely abstract tale that used unusual, vintage photographs to tell a breathtaking story.
Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins
This tells of a girl called Anna who was looking forward to spending her senior year in Atlanta but it turns out that her parents had a different idea, shipping her off to a boarding school in Paris. There she meets the beautiful, smart and charming Etienne St. Clair. There's only one problem with this, he has a serious girlfriend. If I hadn't have read this then I doubt I would read any contemporary works. It was sweet and innocent and portrayed life and love brilliantly.
Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard
The world is divide by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled over by a Silver elite who have god like powers. Yet what happens when a Red Girl, Mare Barrow, discovers that she has the same powerful magic as the Silvers. Shipped off to the Silver Palace, she has no idea whom to trust and what is truly going on in her life. This was unlike anything I've read and was addictive till the very last page.
Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas
In a land without magic, and a deadly King, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She doesn't got to kill the King, but to win her freedom. If she can defeat twenty three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King's champion. But Celaena Sardothien swiftly learns that things are not as innocent as they first appear and their is a much darker force at work inside the palace walls. With a kickass main character and an addictive plot line, this was easily one of the most addictive things I've read.
The Selection, by Keira Cass
In this dystopian world, thirty five girls have the chance to escape the life laid out for them since birth; a chance to live in a palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon. It's any girl's dream. Expect for America Singer. In her case she has to turn her back on the man she secretly loves and compete to win the heart of another. But the more time she spends with Prince Maxon, the more she questions her plans for herself - and realises that the life she's always dreamed of may not be what she truly wants. Though I didn't expect to love it, I found this addicting and adorable throughout.
Cinder, by Marissa Meyer
Set in a futuristic new Beijing, Linh Cinder is a cyborg that operates a mechanic stall yet she is dragged into a twisted world when she agrees to fix the droid of Prince Kai and when she is sold for plague research after her sister, Peony, falls sick with the plague. But it seems that Cinder is not as lowly as she would first believe and as she begins looking deeper into her history, she begins to discover more and more about her self that changes her view on life completely. This retelling of Cinderella has quickly become a part of my favourite series and that is all thanks to Booktube.
The Curse of the Sphinx, by Raye Wagner
A different style of Greek mythology that follows a monster as our hero, something that is never seen in literature. I only discovered this because of Booktube and it is definitely one of the best things I've read this year so I want everyone else to go and give it a read!
Illuminae, by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
This is a space opera novel that is told through a series of a classified documents, censored emails and interviews. It is set in 2572 and tells the story of two teenagers, Kady and Ezra, and how their life is drastically changed when the enemy rain fire on them and they have to flee into space. But their problems only start there and then when things start to get worse, Kady has to hack her way into a tangled web of data to discover the truth and how they can survive. This way my top read of 2015 and I only discovered it because of Booktube.
The Body Finder, by Kimberly Derting
Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: being in love with her best friend and her morbid secret ability. She can sense dead bodies. Usually this was an innocent act, burying those that have died so that their bodies can be at peace. But now things begin to take a turn for the worse when she discovers the bodies of a serial killer and puts herself into the line of fire. This took my breath away and, although it is very morbid in places, it was a gripping read.
